The Ministry of Health announced 829 new coronavirus infections, raising the total to 96,301 while 5 deaths were reported raising the number fatalities to 568.
The figures include people who have had sustained contact with infected individuals and others whose source of infection is being investigated, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad.
The number of people hospitalized with the virus stands at 9514; 84 of whom are in intensive care units, the data showed, revealing that 4,534 tests were conducted yesterday out of a total of 684,204.
Some 718 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours to raise the total to 86,219 cases, added the spokesman. Urging the public to be mindful of health precautions, he said following social distancing rules was the only way to ward off the coronavirus.
