MoH revokes exit permits of those not working as front-line employees

Assistant Undersecretary for Development and Quality Affairs in the Ministry of Health, Dr Muhammad Al- Khashti, announced that exit permits for 80 percent of employees working in development and quality sector have been revoked in response to Ministry of Interior’s observation that a large number of employees of the Ministry of Health who are not working in the front-lines continue roaming during the curfew, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

In an exclusive statement to the daily, Dr Al- Khashti indicated that electronic exit permits for employees in development and quality sector are less than 20 percent, while the rest of the workers perform their work online, in response to ministerial decisions regulating the work during the total curfew

Dr Al-Khashti explained that a large number of workers in the sector opted to volunteer work in the vital sectors of the Ministry of Health to support their colleagues in containing the spread of corona crisis, while participating in the preparation of statistics and health reports related to the coronavirus (Covid-19).

Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs in the Ministry of Health Ibrahim Al-Naham, last Monday submitted an official request to Dr Al-Khashti, to provide the names of employees who need to obtain electronic exit permits, given that work IDs are not considered exit permits during the curfew hours.

Engineer Al-Naham clarified that Ministry of Interior’s letter No. 3096 issued on May 15 indicates a large number of employees of the Ministry of Health who are not working in the front-lines (administrators, secretaries and other non-medical job titles) roam during the curfew period.

He pointed out that the letter of the Ministry Undersecretary Dr Mustafa Reza issued on March 31 on the mechanism of implementing Ministerial Resolution No. 66/2020, and these categories are identified by the assistant director in charge, in coordination with the director of concerned departments or the area director in coordination with hospitals and heads of the medical departments.
