‘End of home quarantine’ document to be issued to those with negative results after 28 days

Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs at Ministry of Health Dr Buthaina Al-Mudhaf stressed the need for adhering to home quarantine for a period of 28 days, indicating that a verification exercise will be done before the end of the quarantine period, and based on the result, a certificate will be issued for the “quarantine expiry” if it is negative. If the result is positive, the cases will be transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Dr Al-Mudhaf highlighted the importance of not leaving the house and abiding by the requirements of isolation inside the house during period of the home quarantine, warning that severe penalties will be taken against those who violate home quarantine.

She said, “Health security is the red line, and the authorities will not allow any harm to it.” Dr Al-Mudhaf explained that the Public Health Sector is continuing with a comprehensive survey campaign in all areas of Kuwait to discover the epicenter of COVID-19.

The survey was conducted in the areas that are regarded hotbeds of the virus. Many cases were examined, and all those were found to be infected were referred to specialized hospitals to receive treatment. She reiterated the necessity to proceed with the precautionary measures to control and overcome COVID-19 through the internationally agreed methods – testing, isolation and physical distancing – for the return of normal life.

She ruled out the return of normal life in the near future, affirming that Ministry of Health is exerting great efforts in coordination with the relevant authorities to confront the epidemic and reduce its spread. Dr Al-Mudhaf called on citizens and residents to stay at home, saying, “Our cooperation will reduce the spread of the epidemic and help us return to normal life.”
