IMA conducts programs to mark Hijri New Year.

Under the patronage of Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs, IMA Kuwait conducted a series of Public Programs successfully between 13th to 21st June 2023 across Kuwait in various mosques of Fahaheel, Mahboula, Salmiya, Abbasiya, Khaitan and Farwaniya areas to mark the commencement of new Hijri Year 1445.

Distinguished Islamic Scholars & Khateeb graced the events, delivering profound lectures on the topics ‘Message of Hijrah’, Importance and Virtues of the month of Muharram, its Islamic & Historical Significance and ‘Shahadat Imam Husain (RA)’, captivating and enlightening the audience who attended in hundreds each event.

Maulana Waleed Umri, a renowned speaker in Kuwait, addressing on the topic of message of Hijrah – The Historic Migration to Madinah explained its significance in Islamic history & lessons to be learnt from it, The Hijrat of the Prophet (SAWS) teaches us the essence of sacrifice. Beloved Prophet (SAWS) and his Companions (RA) sacrificed everything for the cause of Allah – their wealth, their home and even their homeland Makkah and family. It also teaches us to place complete trust (tawakkul) in Allah, the Almighty in all our daily affairs.

Maulana Umar Falahi, IMA President while speaking on topic ‘HijratkaPaighamaurUmmat-e-MuslemakiZimmedari’ illustrated several lessons to be learnt from Hijrat with examples from Quran & Hadith like practicing Sabr and patience in worse situations, to be prepared for outmost sacrifices in the way of Allah. He also emphasized lessons of love and affection among Ansar -the residents of Madinah &Muhajir- the migrants from Makkah. Hijrah also teaches practicing Tawakul always in the name of Allah.

MasoobShihab, ex IMA President, explained in his speech the reason and condition in which the Hijrah or the migration from Makkah to Madinah took place. He further explained few beneficial aspects of Hijrah. Firstly, Muslims were free to practice Islam. Secondly the message of Islam was propagated to Jews and Christians and many other tribal people living in Madinah and its vicinity. Thirdly a Mosque was constructed to establish a Centre for Prayers & propagation of Islam.

Sharafuddin Soofi, a well reputed scholar and speaker in Kuwait, explained in detail the guidance we can take from every step of Hijrah and its compatibility to current society.

The lectures were followed up by a Quiz Session on the topics & winners were joyously awarded with attractive gifts. These Programs drew hundreds of attendees, who immensely benefited from the enlightening lectures. Ladies with Kids also flocked the events at separate sitting arrangements organized in Masajid. Programs were also conducted for kids separately and simultaneously, ensuring an inclusive and engaging experience for young attendees.

At the end of each gathering, dinner packets were served, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
