According to the State Fire Department of California, more than two million acres of land have been consumed by the California fires so far, as the flames continue to rage. Blankets of smoke that can be seen for miles from the forests further continue to hamper the fire department’s efforts to airlift trapped people. The state administration issued orders of evacuation for the entire southern California region on September 7 as at least seven people have died as a result of
this year’s fires and nearly 3,800 structures destroyed.
