Sack of Burnt 500 & 1000 Notes in Uttar Pradesh

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, the burnt remnants of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes were found at a place in Bareilly on Wednesday, police said.

Informed sources said the burnt currency notes were reportedly brought in sacks and then dumped by workers of a company on Parsa Kheda road at C B Ganj in Bareilly.
Police officials said prima facie, the currency notes appeared to have been cut, damaged and then burnt.
