Farmers mark 100th day of protest with road blockade.

Thousands of farmers mostly from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been camping at several border points of Delhi, including Tikri, Singhu and Ghazipur, since November 28 last year, demanding a repeal of the three new farm laws and a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for their crops. On March 6, they blocked the six-lane Kundli–Manesar–Palwal (KMP) expressway at some places in Haryana to mark the completion of 100 days of their agitation at Delhi’s borders. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government says the laws are necessary to modernize agriculture but farmers say they will leave them poorer and at the mercy of big corporations.
