Project for the safety of road users
The Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART) announced 89 percent of the project to design, construct, and maintain pedestrian bridges and a bus stop in various areas has been completed. PART sources said the work is progressing at a fast pace and that delivery will be on time to achieve the desired goals of the project, which aims to provide pedestrians bridges for the safety of road users.
The sources clarified the 11 sites where bridges will be constructed will link Al-Nasr Club and Ishbiliya and Farwaniya with Khaitan in 4 locations on Road 55, as well as between Al-Ardhiya and Salam and Al- Makhial mosque and Al-Farwaniya Hospital, in addition to a pedestrian bridge over Airport Road 50 between Khaitan and Zahra, as well as between Hitteen and Salam, and between Waha and Jahra. On the other hand, PART announced the opening of the last link, at dawn Sunday, on the Seventh Ring Road development project towards Fintas, which passes through the southern half of the new high-rise roundabout over King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud Road (Road 30).
The authority said in a press statement with this opening, the opening of the Seventh Ring Road, from Al-Sulaibiya towards Fintas, has been completed. The width of the road is 3 lanes and the speed limit for vehicles on the road is 80 kilometers per hour. In other news, the Ministry of Public Works announced that the Ministry’s Maintenance Engineering Sector has received 610 complaints and reports regarding road and network repairs in various governorates within 10 days since the beginning of February through the Works Emergency Switch and on its WhatsApp number.
In a press release, the ministry indicated 461 complaints were answered during the same period, while work is underway on 149 other complaints, confirming its full commitment for immediate response to all complaints of citizens and residents around the clock through direct phone calls via the Hotline 150 or through the ‘WhatsApp’ for work emergencies ‘93333150’.
The source stated once complaints or reports that fall within the jurisdiction of the ministry are received, files are opened in the electronic automated system for follow-up and transferred immediately to emergency teams, which in turn deal with these complaints within the concerned ministry sectors in all regions of the governorates until they are completed.
