The holiday for the Hijri New Year will fall on Thursday, 20 August, on the first Muharram of the year 1442 AH. Holidays will be for three days – Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The official working hours will resume on Sunday, 23 August.
The Civil Service Commission announced holidays for all ministries, government agencies, authorities and public institutions, on 20 August.
