1,000 Indians per day begin to depart

Departures to increase upto 2,500 per day

India began to evacuate 1,000 citizen per day from Kuwait as per “Air Bubble” agreement with Kuwait . The evacuation flights began from yesterday for those who wish to return back to India.

The agreement between two countries are that flights are intended for departure only and not for arrivals in compliance with the circular issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in advance to prevent the entry of foreigners into Kuwait from 31 countries, including India.

The coordination is underway to increase the departing passengers to 2,500 per day from 18th to 31st of Aug which will be implemented soon.

The number of departing passengers varies from day to day, but it depends on advance reservations by passengers. However, the agreed seats quota is 1000 passengers per day, including 500 seats for local airlines and 500 seats for Indian airlines. Prior approvals are needed to operate the flights with Air Transport Authority as per the procedures and necessary approvals.
