Indians with any type of visas permitted to travel to UAE

The Govt of India announced in a tweet that under special arrangements made between India and several countries, Indians having any type of visa can travel to the UAE. Earlier Indian ambassador to UAE, Pavan Kapoor, announced in a tweet on Saturday: “I understand that a decision to this effect has now indeed been taken by MHA (Union home ministry) in India.

On his part, Aviation minister H S Puri recently revealed that air bubbles are currently being negotiated between some neighboring countries to facilitate travel for certain categories of people permitted under current government rules till flights resume according to a regular schedule and lockdown measures ease.

Dubai is a huge attraction for Indian travelers with a large expat population that live and work in the city. The emirate in the United Arab Emirates has allowed entry for tourists starting July 7 on certain conditions.

On Wednesday (August 5), Ambassador Kapoor said in a tweet that “since the UAE has recently started issuing new visas, we have recommended to authorities in India to consider allowing Indians with valid visas to travel to the UAE. We are hopeful for an early decision.”

According to the Emirates website, “All passengers arriving in Dubai from any destination, including passengers connecting in Dubai, must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate to be accepted on the flight. The test must be taken a maximum of 96 hours before departure. This excludes children under the age of 12 and passengers who have a moderate or severe disability.

“The UAE government has specified designated laboratories. If you are flying from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, you must get your certificate from one of these labs… You may need to take another COVID-19 PCR test on arrival. If you take a test at the airport, you must remain in your hotel or residence until you receive the test result. If the test result is positive, you will be required to undergo isolation and follow the Dubai Health Authority guidelines.
