Kuwait National Guard distributes food baskets to expats in Hawally

The Kuwait National Guard distributed a number of food baskets to the expats of the isolated region of Hawally in the precautionary manner, according to a decision by the Council of Ministers and as part of the measures to combat the emerging Corona virus (Covid- 19).

The National Guard Assistant for Financial Affairs and Resources Management Brigadier Riyad Muhammad Tawari said in a press statement stated that this initiative comes from the directives of the Supreme Command of the National Guard represented by His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, head of the National Guard and his deputy Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a humanitarian role of the National Guard to help the expats of the isolated areas to reduce their problems.

Tawari pointed out that the National Guard Society undertook the preparation of food baskets that contained a variety of basic commodities covering the necessary needs of the beneficiaries, especially amid the embargo measures applied to the region. The Kuwait cabinet decided in its meeting yesterday evening Thursday to lift the total isolation from the Hawalli region, starting at five o’clock in the morning from Sunday.
