Six private schools urged to pay staff salaries according to law

The Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Education Dr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Huwaila, revealed that six private schools have violated the law by failing to pay their staff wages according to the recent decision that requires salary payment despite the schools activities been suspended over coronavirus fears, reported Al Rai daily.

The Ministry received the complaints of staff not receiving salaries from some private schools through the online complaint service, and an investigation unearthed that six private schools were found guilty.

Al-Huwaila emphasized that the violating schools were called up and urged to abide by the regulatory decisions issued by the Ministry of Education. The General Administration of Private schools were requested to provide the Ministry with the payroll for March 2020. Al-Huwaila added that the General Authority for Manpower was notified, so they could take the necessary measures against the three private schools alleged to have committed the violations for failing to pay salaries of their employees.
