Fake news publisher punished with prison sentence for 21 days

The Public Prosecutor issued a decision to imprison an accused for publishing and spreading fake news about digging 50 graves for coronavirus infected deaths, which caused panic among the citizens, arabic media reported.

Sources said that he was punished with imprisonment for 21 days, after he was investigated following his capture by the Ministry of Interior. During the investigations, he said that he did not intend to cause terror and panic among the citizens. The source stated that the authorities will never tolerate rumor-mongers, especially in light of these aggravating circumstances effecting the country.
