Teacher’s Day at ICSK Khaitan with Malabar Gold

The Indian Community School Kuwait, Khaitan celebrated Teachers’ Day with great gusto and gaiety on Thursday, 5th September 2019 in the school auditorium. The 5th of September, the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, is celebrated in India as National Teachers’ Day. He was the first Vice President and Second President of India. A great philosopher and one of the most well-known diplomats, scholar and above all a teacher, Dr. Radhakrishnan himself suggested to his close associates to celebrate his birthday as Teachers’ day, when they approached him for seeking permission to celebrate his birthday.

A special Assembly in the morning was organized by Class XII students. To have a real time teaching experience and as a mark of respect to the teaching profession, Class XI and XII students shouldered the responsibility to run the school for this day. Malabar Gold & Diamonds (MGD), the globally renowned jewelers, joined the celebration announcing their corporate social responsibility. Paying respect to the profession of teaching, MGD arranged a cake cutting and special lucky draw especially for teachers in which one of the teachers won a diamond ring!

The assembly began with a scintillating dance performance followed by an inspiring address by the Principal, Mr. K. Gangadhar Shirsath. He thanked all the teachers for their diligence, sincerity and hard work. Wishing a wonderful Teachers’ Day, he said that the significance of a teacher has gone up .

The assembly was followed by a get together of teachers. Various entertainments were organized exclusively for teachers by the  students to express their gratitude. Winners of the games were awarded with substantial prizes. An ambience of fun and frolic made the day memorable for both students and teachers. The day came to an end with the scrumptious lunch hosted by Malabar Gold and Diamonds, reflecting their omnipresence in every aspect of society.
