UP NRI Forum – Kuwait (UPNRIFK) is a platform for all UPians residing in Kuwait to share their knowledge, intellect, experience, skills and best practices for overall development and welfare of the people of Uttar Pradesh. It seeks to forge a symbiotic relationship that empowers us educationally, socially, economically or in any way for that matter, creating such a vibrant, cohesive and mutually cooperative fraternity through various initiatives that none of us is left out in isolation. Hence, the entire effort remains focused on creating the kind of environment for our people that makes Kuwait look like a second home.
Through this initiative of bringing all of us together, the prime objective of UPNRIFK is to promote goodwill and friendship among people from various communities and religious groups residing in Kuwait and working in different capacities and domains. While the forum religiously adheres to accomplish the above, it also aims at preserving and promoting the social and cultural values of the State.
The need of a forum for UPians in Kuwait was being felt since long and was further encouraged by Mr. Shankh Lal Manjhi, State Health Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh when he visited Kuwait on a private trip and held talks with UP Diaspora of Kuwait.
It was a difficult and challenging task to convince and bring together UPians from across Kuwait, most of whom were unknown to each other. However, Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Khan along with Mr. Noorul Hasan Shaikh took the challenge to transform the idea into reality and accomplish this mission. They both decided to discuss it further with more UPians. Subsequently, a meeting was called and attended by a group of ambitious and visionary individuals who supported the idea proposed jointly by Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Khan and Mr. Noorul Hasan Shaikh and unanimously agreed upon forming a non-profit organization with an intention to bring all UPians in Kuwait under one flag regardless of their religion, caste and creed or cultural affiliations.
Thus, the forum formally came into being to achieve the aforesaid desired goals for our fellow UPians. It has been registered with the Indian Embassy, Kuwait vide registration No. INDEMB/KWT/ASSN/278 dated 30.11.2015.
Let’s determine to keep strengthening this forum in whatever capacity we can and try to make the most of it.
