The Embassy of Pakistan in Kuwait held the Mango Festival, which it holds annually, to celebrate the start of the mango season in Pakistan, in Al-Mubarakiya Market. The embassy dedicated part of this celebration on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Kuwaiti-Pakistani diplomatic relations, in the presence of the head of the Voluntary Work Center in Kuwait, Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah, Pakistani Ambassador Malik Muhammad Farooq, and the head of the regional office at the United Nations for the Gulf States, Dr. Amira Al-Hassan. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Ambassador Farooq expressed his happiness for organizing this carnival and in this atmosphere, despite its heat, because of the importance it holds for Pakistan and its people.

He also expressed his happiness and gratitude for the presence of Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad, which reflects the importance of the festival on one hand, and what the Kuwaiti- Pakistani relations bear on the other. He stressed that the relations between the two countries are exceptional, historical and extending for more than 60 years, and today’s festival presented part of the Pakistani heritage, whether through the Pakistani mango, which is divided into more than 500 varieties, as well as through the playing of traditional Pakistani music, in addition to displaying the official uniforms of the state.

For her part, Dr. Amira Al-Hassan said in a similar statement to KUNA that she takes advantage of this occasion to express her happiness for the passage of 60 years of Kuwaiti- Pakistani diplomatic relations and benefit from these relations to provide community activity in open areas. Al-Hassan added, “We believe that community activities in open spaces enhance the spirit of happiness, fun, and social relations despite the hot weather. However, this festival carries a lot of importance, and I am happy with the presence of everyone.”
