Kuwait Fire Department raises its readiness, cautions people against unstable weather.

The Kuwaiti Fire Department raised on Tuesday, its readiness and activated an emergency plan to deal with developments in the weather situation in the country, in light of reports received from the Meteorological Department. The Public Relations and Media Department said in a statement that the head of the General Fire Force, Lieutenant General Khaled Al- Mekrad, inspected the readiness of the central operations department to receive notifications and the readiness of all fire stations, in the presence of the deputy head of the force for the control sector, Major General Jamal Nasser, and the director of the central operations department, Brigadier General Saad Yassin.

He added that Al-Mekrad reviewed the plan for distributing water intake pumps and their locations, according to prior coordination with the Ministry of Public Works and the Roads Authority, and was also briefed on the procedures and readiness of all rescue teams deployed in all governorates of the country. It stated that Al-Mekrad also listened to a briefing on the readiness and distribution locations of all equipment, machinery, portable boats and hydraulic water withdrawal pumps designated for emergencies, in order to achieve maximum response speed with reports that may be received by the Central Operations Department.

It is noteworthy that the Meteorological Department said earlier in the day that the country is affected by a rainy condition that begins gradually this evening until Thursday afternoon, and is of varying intensity and heavy in some areas, to reach its peak from Wednesday afternoon until Thursday noon.
