The Grand Mosque of Kuwait Prepared to Welcome Worshippers for Qiyam Prayer.

The Director of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs’ Grand Mosque Department, Ali Shaddad, announced on Sunday that the Grand Mosque is fully prepared to receive worshippers for the Qiyam prayer on Monday, after a three-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and maintenance work.

Shaddad revealed that the administration of the Grand Mosque has scheduled reciters from the State of Kuwait for the last 10 nights, along with a schedule of preachers to create a devout atmosphere. The Grand Mosque has also established clinics with full staff, an outdoor tent, and a special club for girls, in addition to other activities with cooperation between the concerned ministries and institutions to serve worshippers.

To facilitate the arrival of worshippers, all parking lots of the Public Utilities Company will be opened free of charge after midnight. Buses have been provided to transport worshippers from the parking lots to the main gate of the mosque, and special parking lots have been allocated for the disabled at the Kuwait Stock Exchange and the adjacent building. Small cars will also be available to transport the elderly and disabled.

Shaddad urged citizens and residents to cooperate with the organizing authorities of the Grand Mosque in serving the worshippers and not to pray in unallocated places.

It is noteworthy that the Grand Mosque underwent radical changes during the hiatus, and will open its doors in a new look for the holy month of Ramadan.
