Interview with Ms. DEVAPRIYA SUDHEESH, CBSE Class X topper from ICSK Kuwait., The well-known news portal in Kuwait recently had the opportunity of having a chat with Ms. DEVAPRIYA SUDHEESH, one of the toppers of CBSE Class X from Indian Community School of Kuwait.

Congratulations on your CBSE Class X result! What are your feelings on this achievement?

I am so grateful to god for all the blessings in my life , I have got such lovely parents and teachers they are so friendly and lovely ,I can call anytime of the day to clear any doubts and especially this year due to the covid pandemic and online classes they a lot problems , i am so thankful to them , even my parents has encouraged and supported me a lot unlike any  other parent they would not compare me with any other children that encouraged me and gave a lot of positivity in my life  , I could do more and more with those valuable notes like do good .

Have you thought about your career plans yet?

I took bio-maths this year and am planning to enter the medical field.

The lockdown was announced in March and things changed. How did you prepare for your exams during COVID-19? How did it affect your preparation? What was the most striking thing during this preparation?

These online classes have their limitations. We can not talk to the teachers face to face and I had eye problems slowly , slowly I got used to it like any person.

What was your daily routine for Class X exams before lockdown and after? How much time did you devote to self-study because coaching can only teach you but you have to do the work?

Before and after lockdown it was quite the same, not much different. The only thing I did was I used to attend classes regularly and attentively and I would not miss any class and take every exam seriously . and as a student I have felt that listening to the class attentively is the way to complete half the portion and with that time proper planning , study plan . I usually study for 4 to 6 hours , depending upon the content , whatever the teacher has thought .

How was the preparation different from the early days to just a month before Class X exam?

We did not have an exam , that’s the sad part, but before the exams I would do as usual study at home , I would not listen to songs ,I would take lecture notes and refer to as many guides as possible.

What was your exam day strategy? What was the roughest and the easiest section according to you?

Before the model exams before writing ,the model 1 , the model 2 exams I used the Pomodoro technique in which 25 minutes we would study and 10 minutes have leisure time. In that time I would do something like listen to music or watch  any  film , something that would relate.

Which college is your dream college for studying further ?

It’s nothing like that , if it’s a medical field I would prefer a medical college.

How did your family support you and motivate you during this stressful lockdown period? How did you de-stress during your preparation?

They told don’t be worried about exams. Everything will come, do what you can and be happy with it. Just put in your efforts and it’s all in god’s hands  but you have to put in some effort , have to put in your maximum effort . and then even if your marks are down also don’t worry , it’s okay, it’s fine.

What role did your school ICSK play in your successful achievement ?

A wonderful work , especially this year ,the teacher took extra classes  1 hour or 2 hour before the exams , and they always encourage us and we have principal support and the functions went on very well actually , they made sure that we don’t miss our school day that badly like we had our farewell , investeacher ceremony . so they have done wonderful job all the teachers and principal

Tell us what’s so special about your school teachers and management, how did they inspire you  ?

They are special in all aspects , especially they are very loving ,we feel like it’s our second home that’s what we call actually . the teachers when we are sad, when we feel depressed they know that even i had many tensions about these exams so my teacher would say that i am very much tensed so they were like our mothers and they encourage us , how much ever times we asked the doubts like this portion is tough , they keep on explaining until we get it .

What message do you have for students who are going to attend next year ?

Pray to god and start from the beginning of the academic year and don’t take any exam lightly. Take them very seriously. 10 marks or 20 marks may be a viva ,anything .

What is your future plan ?

Medical field is my wish , planning to take medical specialization in surgery, then everything is in god’s hand.
