Audit Section of Ministry of Social Affairs suspends work due to infection from coronavirus.

The concerned officials at the Financial Affairs Department in the Ministry of Social Affairs recently issued a circular to the department’s staff, advising them not to report for work as three of their colleagues in the Audit Section were found to be infected with corona, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources.

Sources revealed Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs and Chairman of the Health Conditions Implementation Committee Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi issued a directive to suspend work in the department until the completion of sterilization and disinfection procedures.  Sources affirmed this  step was taken to protect all the other employees at the department.

Sources said Al-Mutairi inspected the ministry’s departments in the Ministries Complex to personally look into the level of compliance to health and precautionary measures among officials and employees.

During the visit, Al-Mutairi issued citations to some employees who violated the regulation on wearing protective masks.  In compliance with the directives of Social Affairs Minister Maryam Al-Aqil, these employees will be referred to the Legal Affairs Department for investigation on grounds of negligence as well as endangering their lives and that of others, sources added.
