The Ministry of Education has formally requested its foreign affairs counterpart to facilitate procedures for the entry of Saudi teachers into the country, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting a source from the Ministry of Education. According to the source, acting Ministry of Education Undersecretary Faisal Maqsid sent an official letter to the deputy foreign affairs minister for consular affairs about the need for the services of 429 Saudi teachers; hence, the importance of allowing them to enter Kuwait as soon as possible in coordination with Saudi authorities. The source disclosed that the list of Saudi teachers, who must return to Kuwait, was attached to the letter.
The source said 252 of these teachers are assigned in Ahmadi Educational District, 54 in Jahra Educational District, 56 in the Capital Educational District, 32 in Hawally Educational District, 23 in Mubarak Al- Kabeer Educational District, 10 in Farwaniya Educational District, and two in the Religious Education Department. On the other hand, Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Saud Al-Harbi has rejected the proposal of the Administrative Sector to postpone the retirement of employees who have been in service for 34 years until next year Instead, the minister issued a directive to complete all the necessary procedures for the retirement of these employees. He approved the list of 106 Kuwaiti workers who have been in service of 34 years and are eligible for pension upon retirement which will take effect on Dec 1, 2020.
