Institutional quarantine on own expense

Government is reviewing its decision on ban for passengers coming from 31 restricted countries with coordination of health authorities and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

The decision of banned 31 countries is reviewed on a weekly basis, and a comprehensive plan is underway to open the flights for 31 banned countries to and from Kuwait International Airport in adherence to strict health and legal requirements.

Among the plan is institutional quarantine in some designated hotels at own expense similar to decisions taken by Jordan and UAE. Hence instead of spending 14 days in a non banned country and then flying to Kuwait, the proposal is to stay at a hotel in Kuwait and not at home for 14 days.

A proposal is made keeping a practical view, where important employees of some sectors, especially teachers who are supposed to begin their work in schools early next month, reports Al Rai.

The study which was presented refuted advantages of allowing expats to return with return to normalcy stages by taking strict preventive measures of institutional quarantine.

Currently many expats have flown to nearby countries and are preparing to travel to Kuwait. The most important step for them to enter Kuwait is carrying a PCR test certificate proving that the passenger is not infected by corona virus.
