Firefighters control a fire in auto parts stores in Al-Mirqab.

The General Fire Department announced that six firefighter teams had taken control of a fire that broke out at dawn today, Thursday, in a number of jewelry stores, car spare parts, tire sales and a garage in Al-Mirqab area. The firefighting said in a press release to the Public Relations Department that the firefighting operations received a tip at two o’clock in the morning that a huge fire had broken out in a number of the aforementioned stores, and as a result, firefighting teams were directed from the centers of Hilali, Madinah, Hawalli, Ardiyah, Subhan and Isnad.

The firefighting teams immediately began to fight the fire and cordoned off the burning area so that the fire did not extend to the rest of the neighboring stores. The number of shops affected by the accident reached nine stores with a total area of approximately 2,500 square meters, while the teams managed to protect more than 50 vehicles, some of which were luxury stores.

The accident did not result in any casualties and the damage was limited only to materials. Work is ongoing to identify the causes of the accident and the firefighters, security personnel and medical emergencies were present at the site.
