Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed most commonly on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.
In Kuwait also many Catholics and other denominations around the world braved the cold last night to mark Christmas with friends and family at churches and in the company of their families at home.
During the celebrations at mass ( The National Evangelical (Lighthouse) Church),the Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Francisco Monticello Padilla conveyed in his uplifting Christmas message that Jesus was about acceptance, and everyone should be treated as human. He called on his parish to accept everyone and live up to Jesus example of giving our heart to God and receive life. We have to respect each other and understand our brethren as humans so we can live as one family”. Churches across Kuwait bore witness to the joyfulness and exuberance of the season as parishioners from the various expat communities exchanged season’s greetings and exemplified the season’s theme of humanity.
After church services, expats (domestic helpers) meet at restaurants and malls around Kuwait City to catch up with friends and family, making it almost impossible for many motorists to enter Kuwait City on this day.0
